Glimpse
Building a website and identity for a climate-positive experience startup
A quick glimpse at the moments i was a part of
I feel incredibly lucky to have contributed to some awesome teams and projects.
Here's the highlight reel for this one.
If you scroll down below this, you'll see the backstory on this role/project too.
Developed Brand Concepts
Mel had already locked and loaded the name Glimpse when she came to me and it sparked an idea of a moment. A brief point in time that can reveal, make things clear - like it did for her when she started it.
Logo and Identity
We then pursued this motif in the form of a pulse, and the visual of an eye. We played with a few concepts (including some that draw inspiration from Vow) but landed on a logo that comprises of an eye, balance, a spark, and a G. We then balanced that with natural but vibrant and well contrasted colours.
Website design and build
Once the brand was locked, we needed a v1 of the website live for the upcoming announcement of events. We collaborated on some ideas and ended up building a singular landing page with CMS functionality, a filtering system on the UI, and a client-first styling system so the design can scale with Glimpse.
First round of events
The first round of events are now happening and I couldn't be more proud to be a part of it! Exciting times watching this come to fruition.
Let's dive into Glimpse
Mel O'Young, former head of Community for Canva and Airbnb alum, begun the journey of activating climate experiences in early 2024 with a tour of Young Henry's algae bioreactor. Following this, she organised 4 more events (with one at Vow) for Climate Action Week Sydney and reached out about branding and web design. We aimed to create something that ran the razor of being futuristic and tech-focused but not too sci-fi. The brand and website was built in under a week.
